Enter a domain, URL, IP, email, or record and get a focused result without setup.
IBAN Validator
Enter an IBAN, BIC/SWIFT code or US routing number to check its supported structure and check digits. For an IBAN, see bank, branch and account fields when that country's format defines them.
Run the check, then ship the workflow
Use the browser tool for a fast answer, then move the same logic into scripts, monitoring, or product flows when it becomes repeatable.
Outputs highlight statuses, risks, records, and next actions instead of raw provider noise.
Use the request and response examples to turn a one-off check into an API call or recipe.

What this tool helps you decide
Each page is shaped around a practical operational question, not just a raw lookup.
See the current DNS, registration, security, pricing, or reputation evidence.
Compare the result with related checks so the next move is easier to trust.
Copy examples, open linked tools, or move into API documentation when you need scale.
Trust signals before you integrate
Transparent docs, authenticated requests, and visible reliability details make it easier to evaluate DomScan before you ship.
Check live service health and documented failure responses before you integrate.
OpenAPI, Swagger, Postman, CLI, SDK, and MCP links are one click away.
Authenticated endpoints use API keys with clear credit costs before you call them.
Start with 10,000 monthly credits and upgrade only when usage grows.
Key Features
For countries with a format in the SWIFT IBAN Registry, check the country-specific length, structure and MOD 97 check digits. For some IBAN-issuing countries without a supported registry format, checks are limited to basic length bounds and the IBAN checksum.
Bank, branch and account fields are extracted only where the country's IBAN format defines them. These are decoded from the IBAN; they are not confirmed by a bank lookup.
Validation runs entirely on our side. Account numbers are never sent to anyone else and are not kept in request logs.
Example request
POST /v1/bank/validate
{"iban": "DE89 3704 0044 0532 0130 00", "bic": "COBADEFFXXX"}
POST /v1/bank/validate
{"routing_number": "021000021"}
Built on the same API
The browser experience previews DomScan's structured endpoints, so teams can validate a use case before writing code.
Frequently asked questions
No. A pass means the supported country-format checks and IBAN check digits passed. It does not show that an account exists, is open, can receive a payment or belongs to the intended payee. Domestic bank-specific check digits are not checked.
BIC and SWIFT codes, including whether the code is a test code, and US ABA routing numbers with their check digit and Federal Reserve district. Through the API you can check an IBAN and a BIC together and see whether they belong to the same country.
The result lists detected issues, such as an unknown country, wrong length, invalid characters, a structure mismatch or check digits that fail. Check the country prefix and compare the number with a trusted source; a format pass cannot confirm that the account is valid or open.
