Why is a link marked unknown?
The target blocked the check, rate limited it, timed out or answered with a server error, so there is no exact evidence that the link is broken.
Are redirects a problem?
A redirect still works, but linking straight to the final URL saves a request and keeps link signals clean.
How many links are checked?
Up to 25 unique targets per request. The response says how many unique targets were not checked.
